When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture. During your use of the Service we collect usage data such as completed sessions, exercise attempts, XP, and skill ratings. We also collect standard server logs (IP address, browser, device type) for security and performance purposes.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to operate and personalise the Service — to track your progress, adapt exercise difficulty, and generate mentor feedback. We use your email address to send transactional messages (account verification, password reset). We use aggregated, anonymised usage data to improve the product. We never sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
Tonality uses Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) to handle account creation and login. Your credentials are managed by Firebase and are subject to Google's privacy policy. We use Google Analytics (only after you give cookie consent) to understand how users interact with the app. Analytics data is anonymised and cannot be used to identify you personally.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
We use browser localStorage to store your session progress and preferences locally on your device. With your consent, we use Google Analytics cookies to measure product usage. You can withdraw cookie consent at any time by clicking "Manage cookies" in the footer.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for product improvement.
